I guess now that I graduated college it will take the place of high school in those dreams I have.  You know, the ones in which you realize you haven't been going to class in months or you show up to class naked

Sure there's mystery. I mean sure you have the scientific explanation of things on both microscopic and macrocosmic levels but that only describes what happens when we're already here. The questions of why and how things exist at all are not easily answered by science.

I'm not saying that there is a reason why we are here, but I think it's hardwired into the human psyche to search for it. We have an undying need to justify existence in some broader, divine terms. Whether the answer is that we are here to serve God, have a great time, to work, to love our families or just humankind, to utilize our rational functions or to create things is a matter of personal interest and debate.
