MORE IMPRESSIONS, I MUST BE AN IMPRESSIONIST (MORE SPOILERS TOO)

The more I think about the Resurrection of Ra's al Ghul I start to see different ways I should be looking at the event:

  1. At least he's back at all.  I'm not a Death and the Maidens fan and a Ra's'less Batman seems almost as unatural as a Joker'less Batman to me.  Maybe now (if all goes well) we can get some more awesome stories out of Ra's before ( Read more... )

Paul Dini sucks.

Blasphemy! Complete and total blasphemy! I agree his part of the Ra's arc was pretty bad, but come on! This is the guy who finally found my beloved Riddler a niche!

I'm not a drooling Morrison fanboy (or girl, rather), but I've always liked Damian, so there! *Thumbs nose*

I liked Dini's chapter, I just thought it was let down by the art. Milligan's chapters have been the weakest from a writing standpoint for me, but nothing terrible.

I wouldn't say Dini outright sucks. I mean, his DCAU work and previous Detective stories all vary from good to excellent. The main things that suck about Dini are his Zatanna and Harley obsessions and the fact he's the head writer of Countdown.

IRC isn't connecting cause you're defending Paul Dini! IT KNOWS AND IT DOES NOT APPROVE.

And I haven't really liked Detective-Dini. Couple that with him BEING THE HEAD WRITER OF COUNTDOWN, and I'm going to keep on believing he sucks as a comic book writer.

EDIT: And your thinking Milligan's parts were the worst just shows your dedication to keeping Damian a horrible irritating character.

DOUBLE EDIT: Zatanna blows almost as hard as Dini's comics.

You really don't like Dini's Detective stuff? There've been some gems. CHRISTMAS JOKER especially.

Yeah, Zatanna blows.

"And your thinking Milligan's parts were the worst just shows your dedication to keeping Damian a horrible irritating character." I don't have anything against the characterisation, just the writing itself was a bit weak. I'm enjoying Damian's evolution over this arc.

Can't really blame me for not having read the "gems" after disliking the issues I did read.

And I guess the writing is a little weak, but I'd say that the weak points of the Milligan issues carry over to the Dini issue without any improvement, not to mention Dini's problems of his own.
