Blaine was just turning the corner when he saw the man in the hallway. He was looking at his phone with a confused look on his face. The blonde wasn't sure if there was some kind of way out there txt on it, but he slowed to look the man over. Not bad, and it wasn't like he was on his way to anywhere special. You set your own hours at the Lotus Lounge. He put on a tentative grin as he walked closer.

"Uh oh... Is that a 'Where the hell am I?' confused look? Or a 'What the hell is this?' look?" He wasn't sure which one he would have preferred himself. It could, conceivably, be both. As long as he could get some entertainment out of it he was up for either. Getting closer, he tilted his head a bit. At 6'2" it wasn't often he had to look up to meet someone's eyes, even if it was only an inch or two.

Sam just .. blinked, at first. He'd been staring so intently at the contacts list on the phone in his hand that it would have been simple to miss the fact the other had spoken entirely. Picking his gaze up, he met eyes with the blond slowly moving his way, carefully trying to size him up before he opened his mouth to speak.

".. little bit of both, I guess?" He scrubbed at the back of his neck with his free hand, opting for a moment to leave the phone be and worry about trying to figure out who all those people were later. "I've .. apparently been here before. But I don't remember a goddamn thing." Well, there it was. Right out in the open, thank you very much for spilling everything all at once. He sighed, shook his head with a faint laugh that could have told of the exasperation filtering through his system at his current predicament.

"If I'm supposed to know you, I'm sorry -- I don't."

Blaine knew a subtle looking over when he was on the receiving end, but he wasn't sure of the reason. It wasn't like the man was oozing with the kind of smarm that made it obvious what he found the most interesting. He cocked an eyebrow at the man saying he had been there before. He might have seen him from afar, but they hadn't ever talked. A shame really. His eyes flickered down a second.

"People go and come, from what I understand." He gave a shrug. No one he 'knew' in Vegas had done that, or if they had he didn't know it. "We hadn't met before, so no point in feeling awkward. It's really our first meeting." He gave a brighter smile, none of the hesitant tilt in his face now as he held out a hand. "I'm Blaine."

.. oh. Well, at least that was something. He could deal with people he'd never actually met before -- but if he found himself faced with someone that had supposedly known him, even known him well before he'd left for the first time? That .. that was going to be a little more than awkward, wasn't it?

Shit. He wasn't going to think about it. One thing at a time, Sam. One thing at a time.

There was a split-second hesitation between seeing that outstretched hand and reaching to grasp it; not that he was paranoid, but he was still a little wary of trusting people outright. It had gotten him into way too much trouble before. He wasn't going to go through that again.

"Sam," he replied softly.

The hesitation before his hand was taken in a shake interested Blaine. There were so many reasons why people didn't want to shake hands. Germaphobes to fear of assassination attempts. Some just have contact issues and germs had nothing to do with it. Blaine couldn't be sure of any of it, but maybe he'd find out. He gave the hand a firm shake before letting go. It was a business shake, and not one of those annoying ones that lingered way too long.

The name given back was said softly and he listened for any signs of stress in the voice. Same was obviously confused, but some took surprise better than others. "Well, Sam. Welcome back to Vegas. You'll get back into the swing of things pretty easy." Well, if he didn't mind screwing men.

That hesitation was born of nothing more than his own insecurity at being caught in a place that he wasn't familiar with -- even if he had been there before, he sure as hell didn't remember it, and it was going to take him a while to get back into things. (He was tenacious, if anything. He wasn't going to let any of it get the better of him. But maybe that was just being plain stubborn ..)

If Blaine had said something about the having-sex-with-guys thing right off the bat, his reaction wouldn't have been too amusing. He was sure that most of them, upon their arrival and finding out that little fact, probably didn't know what the hell to make of that particular stipulation. To Sam? It didn't bother him. (It hadn't before, either, but that was neither here nor there.)

"Thanks," he said, letting his arm drop back to his side. He scrubbed at the back of his neck, sighed quietly. "Guess I just need to figure out where to start."
