"Look, Malfoy. I know you hate me, but I'm the only way you'll get well." The blonde was furious. He didn't want her help; she didn't want to help him. But she was a Healer and she was supposed to be doing her job, right?

"Don't touch me, Granger. I'll walk fine on my own." He told her, pulling his legs off the side of the bed. Slowly, he pushed his completely normal foot to the floor and once he put the other one down, he fell.

"I told you, Malfoy! Let me help you..." She reached over to grab his forearm, but he avoided the contact and steadied himself along the bedside dresser.

"Leave me alone, Granger! I don't care if you're a healer. I don't want to be in this wretched place and I won't have any help from a Mudblood." He said. If a concussion and serious bruising wasn't on the line, he would have folded his hands.

"Malfoy, please. Just let me do my job and you won't have to be here. Everyday that you resist my help, the larger the tears in your muscles are getting. And if it tears through, we can't assure you that you'll have a leg." Draco yelped at sat back on the bed.

"You aren't making me a cripple, Granger! Get out of my room!" He shouted, throwing the glass on the side of his bed in a general direction, watching in dissatisfaction as it landed at her feet.

"No." She said defiantly. She stepped over the glass and wrenched him out of the bed, landing on his injured left leg first. He screamed.

"Put your other foot down, Malfoy!" He glared, but complied and the pain was lifted. "Do you feel as horrible as you did last time?" Slowly, she unclasped her fingers from his forearm and let him stand by himself. He gave her a moody look, but replied, "No."

"Walk, Malfoy." She said. He shook his head and pulled himself back onto the bed.

"Are you insane? If I can barely stand, how can I walk? And don't tell me what to do like I'm a puppy, Granger. I'll do what I want when I'm ready." Hermione was fed up. Again, she pulled him a good foot away from the bed and two feet away from a chair. The only way he could get out of that was to walk.

"Malfoy, listen to me. Use your left first and then your right. If you use your right you'll put the other foot through the same pressure which makes you fall. Please, Malfoy." He looked at her curiously.

Through this whole hardship, this was the first time she had practically begged him. Slowly, he pressed his left leg forward, releasing a hiss, before pressing his right leg forward. And then, he walked in a circle around Hermione, down the hallway of his room and back inside to his bed. She smiled at him.

"You're free to go, Malfoy." He nodded and left.

The next day, Hermione walked into her office to see a large assorted boquet. She smiled and smelled it, pulling the card from it.

'Despite how much trouble I put you through, you saw past it and helped me walk again. Thank you for that.'
