So let's say they start at one. He meets him when he's twenty and the other's twenty-two. They meet in a bar and they're drunk as hell and they're alone. They're not exactly strangers, just people who've met before but can't seem to remember where. Let's say it's all a mistake, that they're crazy.
That they could be in love.
"Shit, shit and shit." Minho says when he wakes up and his hand hits the headboard too hard when he tries feeling for his glasses. He seems to be in a different place, and it seems too early for his usual waking-up time. He gets a hold of his phone, though, and he checks the time. Ten minutes 'til six. He won't be getting up until forty-five minutes after.
That is, if he doesn't find someone sharing the same bed with him.
"Oh shit!" He bolts from his position and gets off the bed as soon as he could, grabbing the blanket when he realizes he's naked. The person on the bed's naked, too, and damn, has he got a nice body but- "Wha- Why- Who-" The person blinks lazily, slowly opening his eyes and proceeding to covering his body with the pillow closest to him.
"I think I'll need to call my lawyer."
So his name's Kim Jonghyun. He's a businessman who recently got dumped by his girlfriend and, "I was drunk and out of my mind. This was a mistake." Jonghyun's bowing to him and he's shaking his head. "No worries, it's all fine." "But it isn't!" Jonghyun exclaims, fists balled on the table top. "I'm a businessman, a CEO, and I should be in control of myself and-" And just like that, they become the best of friends.
Kim Jonghyun is a psychological case. While he's normally upbeat and bubbly, he could be too spontaneous to the point of being happy one minute and suicidal the next - it's alarming. After some time, Minho's gotten used to it already, and he just listens when Jonghyun has anxiety attacks.
"I think the new employee's out to kill me," Jonghyun remarks, biting his nails. Minho chuckles. "Seriously? Jinki couldn't even hurt a fly." Jonghyun blinks twice. "You think so?" Minho laughs some more.
"I'd suggest looking out for that Kibum kid, if I were you. He looks extremely capable of replacing you," Minho says as he stands from his seat and turns his heel to leave. He's already turning the knob when something hits Jonghyun quite hard.
"I'M GOING TO BE FIRED!"
By now, Minho has learned that the best way to make Jognhyun calm down is to run his fingers through Jonghyun's hair and sing songs under his breath. "Try that song from Cinderella," Jonghyun mumbles, head rested on Minho's lap. Minho obliges. "Sing, sweet nightingale. Sing, sweet nightingale high above me..." It feels weird and sounds stupid, him singing, but then Jonghyun's now fast asleep and his legs are already numb from the all the weight.
Now, let's say they're already good friends and they find themselves colliding somewhere along the way. Jonghyun's face is horror-striken, screaming, "Minho, get me out of this mess!" Minho's all grace under pressure and smiles and the occasional chuckle. "Just so you know, the sign says 'Cleaning in progress'. Care to read?" Jonghyun's got that look on his face that says 'Hey there, Captain Obvious.'
And hey there, Captain Trying-to-be-Oblivious. (Minho saw that coming, though.)
Jonghyun disappears from the face of the Earth one day - no note, no calls, nothing at all. Kibum is the officer-in-charge until Jonghyun returns, and it feels different working with someone else. "Minho, my hot chocolate?" He shakes his head briefly and nods. "Ah, yes. Lukewarm. Got it."
When he returns to his desk, his phone tells him he's got a message and a missed call.

"What will I ever do without you?" Jonghyun asks, slumped in the passenger seat. Minho slows down just before the light goes red, throws a bottle of water in Jonghyun's direction - it's a perfect catch. "You could start with spelling words right?" Jonghyun fishes his phone from his pocket, sticks out his tongue at Minho after re-reading his message.
"I hate you, just so you know." Minho counts the seconds before Jonghyun retracts his statement, smiles as he fixes his eyes on the stoplight. "B-b-but not really..."
The light goes green.
So let's say they find themselves sitting opposite each other, like employer and employee do. Like friends and lovers and strangers do. Let's say they're talking about life and the future. Jonghyun reaches for the coffee across the table. "Creamer?" he asks while signing the papers on his desk, flips the page after signing the paper on top. "Fresh milk," Minho replies, pouring in just the right amount of milk and adding some syrup - the coffee's perfect when Jonghyun takes a sip of it. "You missed a page, that one," Minho flips a couple of pages back, pointing at the area where Jonghyun has to sign. Jonghyun blinks twice.
"I don't think this was here before." Minho rolls his eyes. "Just sign it." And so Jonghyun does, without even reading what he's just signed and Minho laughs. Let's say they're still a bit crazy because Jonghyun's just shaking his head and not freaking out, and because Minho's laughing out loud for the first time. That they could be (are) in love. Jonghyun accidentally bumps the cup of coffee and the contents spill on the papers. Minho laughs all the more.
They are crazy and in love.
And this is where they begin.
