Double Trouble
Jonghyun/Taemin; 171 words; PG. Sometimes, the only cure is Taemin.
(Shenanigans.)
The month-long break they've been given is almost over, and Taemin dreads their upcoming schedule. He's been too used to just lying around instead of working, for a change, and for once in his life he feels like his age and not Onew's.
"So we have a performance at 2:30, a fanmeet at 5:00, another fanmeet at 7:00, and a radio guesting at 11:00. How does that sound?" Onew's smile at the end of his statement is obviously forced, and Key's, even more so, when he replies, "That's just great. There goes our social life." Minho opts to not give a reaction. Jonghyun slumps in his chair, looking at Taemin forlornly while whispering, "Save meeeee."
"Hyung!" Excitement can be heard in the tone of Taemin's voice, even if his voice is barely above a whisper. "I know what we're going to do today!" Then there's that toothy grin from Jonghyun, the one that says 'I'm doing whatever you're doing'. Taemin smiles.
When Onew's not looking, they slip from the group and run far, far away.
Too Much Classics
Taemin/Key; 223 words; PG. Kibum is not used to acting in a non-lead role.
(Drama club.)
"I did not sign up for this!" Kibum's voice blares in the confines of the theater. "You specifically told me to prepare for a lead role. Now you're asking me to act as a banana plant?"
"It is a lead role," Minho replies, voice steady and low. "You get to be kissed by a knight in shining armor who'll turn you into a lovely princess. See where I'm going with this?" Kibum just rolls his eyes and snorts. Jonghyun, the neighboring coconut tree, tries hard not to laugh. Jinki, the carabao, nudges him in his side. Kibum mumbles something about crazy directors and how hard it is to be famous when someone emerges from the doors of the theater.
"So sorry for being late, professor!" Minho pushes back his glasses with his index finger, taking a careful look at the new comer. "I was the one who got through the callbacks. The prince?" For a prince who'll be saving Kibum from the curse of the evil witch Sungmin, he seems too meek. Minho furrows his eyebrows. Kibum takes a step forward.
"Hello, prince. I'm your darling banana plant, Kim Kibum." Kibum extends a hand as he fights the smile creeping to his lips. But then Prince Charming smiles brightly and his lips give him away.
"Hello, princess. Lee Taemin. Nice to meet you."
Dotted Lines
Jonghyun/Key; 170 words; PG. Jonghyun takes that leap of faith between lover and friend.
(The two of them think their relationship is a just normal friendship but people around them force them to realize that normal friends don't really do that kind of stuff together.)
Jonghyun's not the type of person who'd read too much into things, but when Jinki asks him about "him and Kibum" one day, he starts deeming everything Kibum does as too affectionate for his own liking. Kibum would always cook his favorite dish for him (and for the rest of the group, for that matter, even if Taemin resents Jonghyun's choice of food), but then that could just be Kibum being his normal, Kibum-ish self. Then there's Kibum always finding a way to slip his hand in his at any time of the day, be in in broad daylight or at the dead of the night.
And then there's Kibum pinning him against the wall after he brushes his teeth, kissing him senseless. But then Kibum always says, "I just need to know how the toothpaste tastes."
But Kibum's never liked any toothpaste flavor.
So when Jinki enlightens him for the first time in his life and says the most sensible thing he'll ever hear, he listens. "He likes you."
