It's simply awful here. It wouldn't be, except I've to put up with cousin Francis all day, and he's the worst sort of a prat. And I hate horses.

I wanted to go to camp. I could've been playing quidditch and doing interesting things, but Mama said I wasn't to.

At least I'll be going to Germany soon, I'm sure it's loads better than here.

It's filthy, far away, and full of Americans. She says it isn't in my future interests to live in the woods like an animal.

What does she know about your future interests? That's for you to decide, that's why it's your future and not hers.

I'd like to play quidditch professionally, only I expect she'll be awfully disappointed. She'd like me to go into Society.
