Random Things
I guess this is a bit of catch up post, since I've not been around for a while. I've been posting a little bit more and commenting a little bit more and am hoping to get back into the swing of things especially since Merlin is starting IN LESS THAN A WEEK! (*squee*). And True Blood finale on Sunday! (*double squee*)
First order of business: To sate my lust for True Blood (and my obsession does run deep and crazy) I have decided to do a rewatch of seasons 1 and 2. My season 2 dvd arrived today (weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!) so it felt the right time to start my EPIC TRUE BLOODATHON OF AWESOME. I think for posterity's sake, I'm going to do a bit of a mini review/watchalong/rambly thing in my journal. Because I completely fail at committing to things and following them through (except baking cakes- thats one thing I can do, because I desperately want to eat a cake at the end of it all), I'm going to record my thoughts as I'm watching and will probably just post that up here instead of writing a coherent review. I'll have finished season 1 tomorrow so will probably post part one then.
ALSO, on a random note, does anyone else have an ereader? I have a Sony Touch PRS600 and its awesome. I LOVE IT. Which I never thought I would like, because I love real paper books so much. There are several great things about the ereader though- its not bulky, which means instead of carrying around Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (i.e. a friggin brick) I can read it on my shiny technical device. I sound like I'm getting 10% from Sony. I'm not. I just love my ereader.
Another real life thing: I got a promotion at work! Well, sort of a promotion. I'm doing the same job but (after only working there for a year) they've informed me that I'm being upgraded. So I'm going from the bottom of a grade 4 to a grade 5. Which is around 2k more a year. WOOHOO! Go me!
HOLIDAY! CELEBRATE! Or vacation, as I guess some people say. I've been on three holidays this summer (because, due to the fact that I work at a university and we have to abide to term times when taking leave). Now I give you a whistlestop tour of my holidays:
Holiday 1: The Boat Holiday (Sailing on the River Trent, squashed into a small cabin with the parents, BBQs, sunshine, and bug bites)
Holiday 2: Amsterdam (with friends, sightseeing, zoos, museums, PANCAKES, ice cream

Holiday 3: Northumberland (with two grandmas, my sister and my aunty, saw 4 castles, 2 great halls, seaside, and the largest second hand bookshop in the world which was wonderful)
Oh yeah, thats HOGWARTS BABY (where they filmed it at least)! We even saw Hagrid! Look:
SEE? HAGRID! SHUT UP, HE'S TOTALLY THE REAL HAGRID AND NOT SOME DRAMA STUDENT IN A FATSUIT.
P.S. I've just switched to a True Blood mood theme and I'm VERY annoyed to find out that most of them are bloody Eggs related. EGGS? Who cares about EGGS? GRR ARGH. Also? Right now on my editing/writing page I can see the picture in my mood theme. But once I've posted I can't see it. Anyone know why?
