What is this tumblr thing?

So I've joined tumblr and I don't really know what it is. A couple of people on my flist keep raving about it and it seems to be a way to facilitate the squee...but I don't know know what to do. Do I post pictures? What sort of pictures? Do I post videos or quotes? I'm confused. Anyone else on tumblr? (Also, I'm only following like 1 person- how do ( Read more... )

I JUST started using it (had it for forever, but never bothered with it until now), so we can learn together! Basically you reblog what you see around you, or you can post original images (anything you like).

I'm on it there, I'll start following you. Basically I just reblog stuff cause I'm too lazy to post my own stuff. Go to the Directory and you can generally find stuff there, or just do a search for what you want. Any questions let me know, not that I'm an expert or anything :)

LOL I understand the appeal of Tumblr, but I honestly feel as though I'd spend maybe 1% of my time generating my own content, and then the rest of the time re-blogging other people's awesome entries simply for the sake of archiving them. Which I feel is kind of defeating the purpose of getting an account in the first place. :-P

Yeah I'm pretty much the same- I very much doubt I'll be generating my own content. I'm not very fandom creative, although I do love to squee so I'll probably mostly be reblogging.
