According to the bbc most people have only read an average of 6 out of this 100 classic books. bold the ones you have read. italic the ones you have dabbled with (read just a part or a abridged version, seen a movie/rendition

oh wow, I don't feel so horrible now xD Knowing we're both book lovers and still only have read 15 of the "classics" *rollseyes (what's that even mean? Like ... Time Travellers Wife? How is that a classic? oO)* GO US:D

I don't think they're necessarily classics, they're just the most popular, i.e. what the general public chose as their 100. I find, generally, in most things the general public are very very stupid. So that may be why Time Travellers Wife and The Da Vinci Code are up there over, say, Northanger Abbey or pretty much any fantasy books other than LOTR and HP. THAT'S MY EXCUSE FOR NOT READING MORE AND I'M STICKING TO IT!
