What can I say about this book that my f-list hasn't said already, and much more eloquently, I might add. I just want to list the things that I liked and disliked. Unfortunately, I disliked it a whole lot more than I expected. Actually, 'dislike' would be a pretty big word, most of the time I just felt cheated. Ever since Book 5, the characters just weren't engaging enough for me to care a whole lot about them, and the only parts I liked about Book 6 were Draco and Snape. Once again JKR has shown me how little she actually cared for these characters.
This book, like some of the previous books, droned on and on and on ... about nothing, it loses its sense of direction and takes a long time to get back on track. The fact that Draco is essentially the same character from the end of HBP reeks of laziness; that wonderful build-up in HBP amounted to absolutely nothing. And don't get me started on Snape's death. After all that he's had to go through and sacrificed for the people who essentially loathed him, he dies because LV was peeved. Yes, we know LV likes to kill and kills easily, but this is a book, what the hell was the point of Snape's journey? Or what about the fact that Dumbledore revealed that Snape's task of protecting Harry throughout the years was pretty much useless in the end because the boy was going to die anyway? WTF?
I feel for Snape, his was a fool's journey in the end, and his death The Final Fuck You.

And because there can never, ever be enough rants!
- Even though this book was (thankfully) 90% Ginny-less, the times that she did appear in the book still made me want to scratch my eyes out. Thank you Ginny for being such a colossal bitch in the previous books that you make me want to vomit every time your name is even mentioned.
- Hugely relieved about Luna's appearance: she is all kinds of awesome.
- It's pretty evident that JKR sees the perfect married woman as one wearing an apron: look at how Fleur ended up.
- Lupin's death was another reminder that Jo doesn't like messed-up, tortured souls who belong in the past. Jo envisioned a future of Shiny Happy People and don't you forget it.
- Was there ever any doubt that Harry and Ginny would end up happily ever after-ing with 50 kids?
- No?
- Neither did I. And naming one of your kids 'Albus Severus'? WTF?
- Teddy Lupin's middle name must be Sirius. It must!
- Do I really need to comment on 'Scorpius'? And Draco having a receding hairline in his 30's was like the final kick to his balls.
