It's been a while *sigh*
Just finished this a few hours ago because I couldn't work on it anymore. I had to paint the BG three times because Painter 6 kept screwing up, so I decided to keep it very simple, but the empty landscape sort of works for this particular piece (and I'm not saying that to make excuses for myself).
Yes, it's Tonks with black hair, and I definitely wanted to paint her with a strong (Black) profile because her character in Book 6 didn't do anything for her, really. Also, I think she turned out to look strong and pretty here... because nothing's too good for my Lupin! By the by, the pink rose is really only a substitute for the lack of pink hair ^^;
Forgot to mention (hey, it's late in my neck of the woods) that the inspiration (and the title) for this piece was Cindy Lauper's True Colours. I found the lyrics to be very fitting for the character I wanted to paint :)

Anyway, I was going to work on the BG in Painter IX as soon as it arrived, but it's a big leap from the Painter 6 I've always worked in, so it's gonna take some getting used to. In the meantime, I'll just be doodling with some stuff in v.9 -_-;
