One week left to go and then I'll be finished the introduction to short fiction continuing ed writing class that I've been taking. I mean, how does original fiction???????? So that happened, and now it's almost done, and who knows about original fiction, but I do think I learned some stuff

"Talking about an idea is so embarrassing." I can identify with this SO much. It's so hard to communicate to someone else the thing about the idea that makes you excited about it. And the idea is probably not going to look anything like what the story turns out to be anyway, and how do you know what the story will turn out to be until you write it? And then rewrite it, because maybe you only even figure out what the story is supposed to be when you get to the end, and then you have to rewrite everything else.
Writing insecurity. Hey you know that writing meme that was floating around tumblr, where people were supposed to submit three numbers that corresponded to particular stories, and the person who wrote them would then say three things that they liked about each of those stories? I was like, um let's have it be three things I *don't* like and then we can play!
(I love your definition of poetry!)

Exactlyyyyyy. And it almost doesn't even matter if it's a good idea or not - it just matters how well you're able to write it, which you can't show someone until you, you know, ACTUALLY WRITE IT. But it's horrible because it's like, idk i'm just writing some stuff, mumble mumble mumble, slinks off into the corner. I would love to be able to talk about ideas a LITTLE bit so it wasn't just NOTHING and then, oh, by the way, I finished a story.
I was like, um let's have it be three things I *don't* like and then we can play!I REMEMBER THINKING THE EXACT SAME THING. But somehow I feel like people probably ( ... )

That would be kind of cool though -- three parts: what did you intend on writing, what are you happy about what you've actually written, what would you like to rewrite? New meme! Niiiiice! If you started a meme like that, I would totally play!

We do not need to submit another draft, no. I emailed and asked and he actually sent back a really nice email, but, yeah, no more drafts required for class.
I feel like I'm starting to get over that a bit though and am even considering taking a third crack at my story
Lol, meanwhile I had my nervous breakdown after the second workshop. We just wouldn't be us if we didn't take turns falling apart. I guess it is good to see what people think you were trying to do, but also it is the most depressing, discouraging thing in the entire world and I'm like Angel, at the bottom of the ocean, locked in a coffin of self hatred. NOT TO BE DRAMATIC.
I don't know what the trick to not hating talking about your ideas is or really understand why you find it embarrassing.I find it embarrassing because I feel like I say what the idea is and then people's ( ... )

Awww, what did he say in his email? That you are amazing? And his favourite student?
Yeah, I kind of got the feeling you were having a meltdown, but I know you don't like talking about it so I didn't know what to do! You don't believe anything I say about your writing anyway, so I just watched you ride away on your drama llama!
Well, that's obviously not true. Demonstrably not true! When you told them what it was about, they were like, Oh! Please be more obvious about that! PS: Remember how I totally called it that real life people wouldn't be as familiar with the theme of made families? Yeah.
I just read a short story by George Saunders written from the POV of a fox. It was so amazing. I LOVE HIM.
