For the past four weeks solid I have been on the job hunt and in all seriousness I want to slit my wrists! This is the most demoralizing thing I've ever done - you need a a University Degree to answer phones for christsake!!! I understand how you feel. Just your head up and keep looking, I'm sure that something will come your way. Perhaps you may have to suck it up and take a demeaning job at first, but it doesn't mean it you have to stay in it for long. Just take anything to hold you over, while you look for something more deserving of your qualifications.

Have you ever considered moving out of Halifax? I'm not saying it's wonderful here (as an example), but your education would definitely matter for the abundance of opportunities there are.

It's definitely a "buyers market" in Nova Scotia, unfortunately. And as long as the local politicians keep the same attitude that they have now, it will stay that way for a while. A simple example of that is Rodney MacDonalds response to the Ad that was placed in local papers to entice people to come out west. He said: "I'm not worried".

When considering that young people are leaving in droves already, I suppose I'm not surprised that that was his response that already. But he fucking well should be worried. The ( ... )
