Seriously, though, one of the best things you can do is to write a detailed outline beforehand and have someone go over it. Otherwise, you're going to end up writing long draft after long draft.
Also, something tells me that the quality of a book and three articles written over just one summer would not be quite that good, unless it was just a matter of polishing up a few things that had already been worked on extensively, which is probably the case for your prof. I mean, I've got papers sitting around that I could probably turn into articles with a couple weeks' intensive work...it's just a matter of being in the field long enough to build up that sort of "stockpile of analyses" that you can re-tool quickly.

I'm pretty confident with what I have to say, however, the doubt is playing games with that confidence and that's primarily what's bothering me! That and a lot of stress outside of this are combining forces! I think that if I keep working on it I should be able to produce something come the end of November, which would be perfect. Though part of me just wants to get it done so I can move on from the subject and expand my field of research!
This is so important for my future academic career so yea! Anyway thanks for the advice much appreciated.
