Okay, so England, Holland, Argentina, the Czech Republic, the USA and Spain (the countries I had money on) are all out. There isn't one team I like that's made the final four. In fact, my four most disliked European nations/sides are the final four. So who do I support now?

This has been a tough question for me, too. Despite the wars, and our football rivalry (still smug about the 5-1 win in 2000? I know I am) Germany won out, because they have been such good hosts that many English fans leaving Germany want them to win, I'm studying German, and they haven't won for a while.
And yes, the I guess the Queen is German. Didn't think of that one.

Of the final four, only France have won more recently (1998) than Germany(1990). Italy last won in 1982 and Portugal's best-ever finish prior to this World Cup was the semi-finals in 1966. And who won it that year?!

You shoulda gone for France.... the language is sexy.

I don't care for "fooootball" though. Or the World Cup sort anyway...

Portugal: just no.
Italy: no, due to that penalty.
France beat Brazil. That's cool. So maybe.
Germany: No reason not too.

Aww, and now Germany are out too!

...just watched the match: they were beat by 2 goals (just typed goats :S) in the last 2 minutes. Bloody Italians. ;)
