Animal Planet, I love your meerkats. Adorable! And the Growing Up Lynx show just made me laugh and cry in the course of an hour.

But as much as I love Animal Planet, I just can't watch the emergency vet shows. They're just too much for me and leave me crying like a baby.

I love Meerkat Manor but I had to stop watching because every episode seemed fraught with tragedy. Everything's going along all happy and then Sean Astin tells me that "Trouble looms on the horizon for this family of Meerkats."

I know! He's all, "But the Lazuli are on the way toward Shakespeare and the four pups. Will Flower bring the rest of the Whiskers gang back in time to help? If necessary, Shakespeare will defend the pups with his life."

And then the show ends with me hanging on the edge of my seat. Damn you, Sean Astin!

Me too! I can't even watch movies where animals get hurt. It makes me get too upset to watch the end of the movie. I have to close my eyes at that point in Anchorman where Jack Black hurts Baxter, because if I don't, I can't watch the rest of the movie.

I know...I cried like a baby in My Dog Skip. Gorillas in the Mist. ...and just about every other animal movie.
