No matter what, someone will love the cast and someone will hate it. I've just got to live with that and put together the best show that I can. Trite, but comforting

[Tranio starts undoing his belt] Lucentio's Father - NO! I mean, uhm, not exactly "serviceable" but more attentive. UH, NO! I mean, uhm, uh...don't let him get arrested. That's it...
Yep. Someone's going to get ticked. And they'll whine. And they'll get over it. Don't mind them, you're doing great. torberg and I discussed trying to get down to CP on a long-term, regular basis, but we really just couldn't. We'll be in the front row opening night, though!
Re: Lucentio--okay, now I'm picturing the crazed and drug addicted artist from the novel First Wives' Club. And it's really kind of awesome.
Thanks, m'dear. Sorry you couldn't make it, but I know you're not going far. I still have the Dresden CDs, so I'll have to see you again.
Ha! This is why I have a crew. Someone jokingly suggests something and I say "Yeeeessss... that's PERFECT! Let's revamp the whole show!" [See icon.] And then I remember that I hate "vamping" things to begin with.
Bianca's suitors are actually all Lucentio, recently escaped from a mental hospital with his buddy Tranio, who probably doesn't exist either. Discuss. ROFL! My high school production of "The Taming of the Shrew" would have been so much more interesting if we'd done that! And it certainly would have helped with the fact that there were only like four guys in the class, so all the girls had male roles.

So Baptista & Petruchio are actually doctors. Bianca and Kate are mental patients. Lucentio is everyone, Tranio is an orderly looking out for him. Grumio is a nurse.
The play opens with Sly, a delusional head case, telling everyone he's wealthy. But this time, the nurses and staff play along with it.
