Geez, the nerve of this guy. Who did he think he was, ordering him around like that? Better yet, why the hell was he letting him get away with it? He guessed it was because he was turning out to be pretty useful. Telling him things, getting into trouble... Sure, the trouble part would be nice to avoid, but he didn't want to live in a dump like this for the rest of his life. If this guy could find a way out of here, or something similar?

Well, he supposed that was reason enough.

...But really, a sword fight?

He slowed to a stop with his hands on his hips, eying Seifer. "You happy now?"

Seifer just looked up. It was kind of funny how easy Zelos was to play. It made him all the more careful though. He didn't know what Zelos was looking for honestly, but he had no intention of leading him into trouble. If Zelos wanted to tag along for now he could keep him safe.

Of course he'd never say that.

"Heh... I will be. What're your rules?"

He leans his weight on just one foot, one hand raising from his hips to make a half-shrugging sort of motion. "As much as I hate to say it, being a magic swordsman and all-- no magic."

Sure, he could probably handle it. But did that mean he wanted to? Nope. It was always the easiest options he tried for. Just skimming by things worked, so this fight was no different. He thought for a moment, hand lowering. Anything else he wanted to avoid? Nah, he was pretty sure he could cover anything else.

"Simple enough?"

"It's fair."

Closing his eyes for a moment he unjunctioned Diablos. Fair was fair, right. He opened his eyes again and nodded.

"Alright. Set."

He raised his sword. Whenever Zelos was ready...

Zelos smirks, unsheathing his sword. APPARENTLY HE SMIRKS SO MUCH I HAVE TO WRITE IT TWICE. You know he always gets a shield in battle scenes but I'm going to just say it was left at home. He'll have one arm held defensively, instead. Anyway, with magic out of the picture, he sure looks cocky.

"This is gonna be cake." And with that, he goes in with some simple moves at first, just trying to slash Seifer with his sword.

Seifer parries that first slash immediately. Not even waiting to see how Zelos reacts he steps in and makes a slash right for the Chosen's throat. No playing around. Or maybe this is playing, for Seifer anyways.

"Heh."

At the parry, he already moved to jump back, the slash for his neck missing by a few inches. Wouldn't want to cut his beautiful hair!!

He didn't wait long after that jump back to come at Seifer again. His movements weren't those of any normal fighter, though. They had a bit of a spin to them. ...Elegance, Zelos would say. Really, he fought like a dancer. It was obvious he at least knew what he was doing with a sword.

That much was clear to him, though. Not a second thought about it. He was, however, focused on Seifer's fighting style. A fighting style could tell a lot about a person. And maybe he was curious. Or maybe, he just wanted to know the other pieces in this game. Anyway, teal deer aside, he spins for his own attack, aiming for Seifer's chest.

Seifer blocks, raising both blades up to slip beneath and come out behind Zelos. Spinning he aims for the other man's back.

His exsphere may not be working, but at least his reflexes are better than most would expect. He does his best to spin back again at that, bringing his weapon across in an attempted parry of sorts. It was still a little too close. Was it just him, or was Seifer the number one guy getting him to think about chip removal? Hm.

Anyway, he sticks defensive, jumping away after that narrow avoiding.

A look quite ruthless comes across Seifer's face. He couldn't say he wasn't enjoying this. It wasn't the same as having a gunblade. But it was his blade. The blade he'd fought Lavos with.

His hand tightened around the hilt. Leaping after Zelos he slashes the sword up in a diagonal.

"Not the face!" So it wasn't nearly as close to his face as last time, but he's feeling the need to yell this now. Who even knows. He pulls his own sword down on Seifer's before breaking and trying for his own offensive attack. A stab at Seifer.

So he didn't have his magic, but sonic thrust was easy enough without the boost, too...

Twisting out of the way, Seifer slashes at Zelos's side. "Then stop messin' around!"

That hits, and Zelos reacts over dramatically, of course. He's still messing around, his words are even proving it... "Man, I feel like a chump..." But there's the briefest of pauses before he comes back from that stumble, going in for three very rounded swings.

"Is this serious?" Questioning. He doesn't see why it should be.

Seifer has to think about that. He blocks the first two, but he's slow on the last one and the tip of the sword cuts his face before he can pull back. Nothing life threatening, but it's bleeding all the same.

"I expect you to try'n kill me."

So yes. He dashes in suddenly faster, spinning before making a much stronger slash straight towards Zelos's head. If Zelos doesn't manage to block or dodge in time though he'll stop before causing any serious injury.

"That's your idea of fun?"

He frowns at that speed, raising his sword as if he was going to block (precautionary in case he can't jump away in time, really), but then kicking off the ground to jump backwards. Running... Well he was good at that.

"Training."

Seifer doesn't let up, but chases right after with a second swing.
