The Log:
Since Marco had been feeling a bit off due to the fog, Japan was a bit disappointed. For his sake, that is. It was his birthday, so he should enjoy it, right? Because he was obviously younger and needed to enjoy these moments while they still mattered. Or something like that. The idea had been in the back of his mind, and if it were anyone else, Japan wouldn't dare, but... Marco had openly admitted his like for maid dresses. And Japan had admitted his as well. So if he wore one now, it would make up for the seeing others in them later, right?
That paragraph was basically Japan trying to justify to himself why he was currently wearing a maid dress and sitting politely in front of the door waiting for Marco to come back. The fog had lifted a little, at least, and he wanted to be surprising yet again, just to get those bonus points...!
So Marco whenever you walk in the door, Japan will be giving a formal bow and then looking up with a "Welcome home."
