IIIIIIITS MOUSE TRAP
That's right.
Xellos got bored. Really bored. You people need to do more interesting stuff, so he's going to make it interesting.
He doesn't have his magic, so he can't pull his typical, supernatural pranks on anyone, and he doesn't have a mission here either, other than getting the hell out, which he can't do while chipped.
So while he's waiting/scheming/plotting this planets inevitable reduction into a spiraling dust cloud, he's going to have some fun.
What does this 'fun' entail?
The first floor and one of the stairways going upstairs has been trapped, as well as a few darkened rooms. The darkened rooms are the ones with the intricate traps, while the ones in the hall are simpler.
But by no means less humiliating/painful, but never fatal. Annoying and bruise inducing, but they won't kill you.
The ones in the rooms are Rube Goldberg like contraptions, and are rather well placed and carefully hidden. If you know the room well enough, maybe you can avoid the outcome, but for the most part they're hard to spot.
One room is a bucket of icy cold water, with slick floors and strategically placed tacks for when your bottom inevitably hits the floor.
Another room is rigged to trip the visitor... into a pan of frigid lake sludge, wherein there is a switch that will drop a container of light debris (thing dead plants, feathers and so on) onto the hapless subject.
And the last is designed to smack the victim in the face with a reasonably lightweight, but still considerably painful sheet of plastic salvaged from the shopping district.
As for the rest of the school, the stairs will trip you if you try to go up them and the higher steps (on which your hands will be landing), have been coated in an unpleasant smelling sticky liquid. Enjoy washing that off.
The rest of the random contraptions are up to your imagination! Remember, minor injuries are fine, but Xellos doesn't go as far as to break bones, rip off limbs or shatter teeth or anything of the sort.
Though the room with the surprise sheet of plastic might give you a bloody nose.
