"These people, touched by Kun Lan's "God Hand," lose their mind and run wild. Once they become a "Heaven Smile," they turn into walking timebombs, and self-destruct wherever they can find people around.
What's more, they are able to camouflage themselves and disappear into the urban landscape, making them nearly impossible to see with the naked eye.
They're always smiling. If you hear one of their wicked laughs, watch out, for danger is near."

As said in the post yesterday, after the satellite crashed, Heaven Smile will be running and roaming around the city for targets (though not until nightfall, unless your character actively approaches one of them out of curiosity). They do have a weak spot, but it's not necessary to hit that to kill them (because sometimes they still manage to survive it. But the weak spot does make it easier). As can be seen in the video, removing their limbs or even their head doesn't always stop them from walking (or crawling, if their legs get taken out) towards you- so either keep hitting them or just run away. Any weapon or magic would work against them too- as long as it hits hard enough to stop their advance towards you.
Heaven Smile announce their presence with their laughter first, before you can even see them. Also, although there are many types of Heaven Smile, Discedo will only see the humanoid ones roaming around (not the really giant ones. the regular-sized ones)
Can you escape them? It's possible, if you fake them out into lunging for you so that they explode first. It's a bit tricky, but it's possible. Otherwise, they're very persistent in taking you with them.
Also, if your character is going to DIE for this event then comment to this post saying so. This is to keep track of things.
Remember that Heaven Smiles won't be running around attacking people until NIGHT.
