A ACTION ♌ 1645 Albright Lane

[It's a bright morning in 1645 Albright Lane. The snow is clean and sparkling outside. The woman laying in bed beside her husband is peaceful, deceptively so. It's calm. Quiet.]

Ah!

[There's a thump, then another, the confused words of a suddenly awoken husband who found himself on the floor and the hissing of a ( Read more... )

Ah... You are part of that race, then? With the grey skin and multi-colored blood?

...Well I was. Not so much now...Wait you've heard of it?

Not really familiar with them but it's good to know I'm not alone here.

[The hissing is new. And because curiosity killed the metahuman, Charlie can't help but peek in through her fakeidy fake parents door.

Welp. Looks like the hissing isn't the only thing new.]

Uh, ok, so I don't know how to break it to you, but that's not attractive at all.

[Her head snaps towards the door and she stares up at the new girl, her grimace relaxing but her hands still clenched in claws] ...You're one of them. Like I am now.

Did I die and not realize it? Is this some strange afterlife?

One of them? Which part? The totally rockin' badass part, or the kidnapped and stuck in retroville part? [Charlie really needs to take these things more seriously. Instead, she teleports into the room, a few feet away from the new woman.]

This is Mayfield. We're all trapped here. Some of us are totally dead, which is a bummer and all, but lucky for you, most of us aren't! Unless uh, you just witnessed any large explosions or were in a car wreck or something.

[There's a whole new set of undignified scrambling when she teleports closer] No! The--uh. Pink and pale and soft things. What am I now? I can't do anything like this.

A... troll, miss?

Oh! And the sun will not blind you, though it's quite cold now so you should make sure you wear lots of warm clothes before going outside.

A troll. Grey skin, horns, black hair. That type...though I guess they might all be like this. ...Are you sure? It looks really bright and my lusus taught me I'd go blind or get burnt or something if I went out. And wouldn't it ...be really warm if it's really bright?

[Logic at its finest]

Ah... There really are a lot of different people here... Ah, if they are also new hear they may look like... a normal human. The town takes away anything that makes you special or different.

The sun is okay. You might get burnt in summer if you don't wear sunscreen and stay out for a long time, but it won't be dangerous. And it looks really bright because it's reflecting off the snow!

[Despite all her large words and how serious she sounds, it's still clear this is just a lil girl]

...So it's really safe out there? [She is dubious of your words little wiggler. But she will accept them for now because she has no real choice]

Thank you. By the way. For the information. Chances are I wouldn't even recognize my friends right?

The presence in this town of the social circles of three separate jadebloods would be incredibly unlikely given the paucity of our blood type. And since all of the number acquainted with yours truly remain accounted for, I can only wonder...

...might she go by Dolorosa?

That's her! You know of her then! Wait you're a jadeblood as well? They were really rare, it's strange to meet two in my lifetime!

Yes I do, yes I am, and yes we are, respectively. You can imagine my surprise at meeting another.

You sound young. You probably aren't even old enough to attend to the Mother Grub are you?

Ah, I don't think you would go blind just from the sun.. [ a chuckle. ]

Or else the entire town would have gone blind a long time ago.

I've never gone out in the sun in my life, how was I supposed to know this body wouldn't burn up in it.

That's.. quite an odd predicament. But I suppose it's only to be expected with how many worlds are linked together by this place, hm..?

I can assure you the sun is completely safe here, especially since everyone arrives here with a human body that can definitely withstand it.

If you say so. I think I'll stay inside for now.
