I shall probably bore even the scant readers that I do have by endless posting of the house, but hey, it's a big deal in my life and will remain so over the next few years, so it seems as well to document it here for myself if  for no-one else.  With of course the advantage of being able to point people here if they are foolish enough to ask :D.   ( Read more... )

That is a lovely home! From the floor plan it looks to be enormous! I really like the kitchen too.

So far, so good! I like the way the glass bricks were integrated. :)

Actually we do have ideas for it - currently don't know how technically feasible it will be to move the boiler from the kitchen into that area and then convert to a laundry room. This would enable the current utility area extension above ground to be converted to something else, possibly a boot room come greenhouse area. But, the current boiler is vented through the chimney, so moving the boiler might not be straightforward. Having said that, if we CAN do that, we would love to put a Rayburn or stove in the fireplace in the kitchen, suitable for the period of the building. But, none of these plans are necessary right now and finances will mean careful planning so that we carry out work in a sensible logical order that doesn't mean we destroy stuff we've previously spent money on!
