Alas, I've finally seen the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm out of the depths of despair, hopelessness, and depression. I don't know what I would do without encouragement of friends around me online, on phone, email, and in person to pull me out of this deep dark hole ( Read more... )

there's nothing wrong with comparing yourself with others, but you need the right mentality. instead of finding desperation when you see the lives of other people, find motivation and strength.

a false sense of satisfaction through lowered expectations will not last long.

the lives of others aren't as great as you see them to be anyway. they have problems just like you, probably more, you just don't know about them.

when you think you're behind, that's not time to give up. that's time to run harder.

We are each alotted a single life. The external world, however beautiful or ugly it is, has no direct bearing on our existance. In the end we're stuck with ourselves and I think this is the most important fact. Don't get too caught up in the whirlwind and take a few steps back.

There are things we each would like to change about ourselves. As with anything, it takes time and effort. Getting from point A to point B requires picking up one leg after another and planting it and replanting it in the dirt roat.

We're still young, still time to change if that's what we need.

Feel better soon, Leah.
