Has anyone else looked at the new version of update.bml that LiveJournal is working on? The one that takes the nice compact sets of dropdowns and such above and below the main input box, and pretty much just strews them around the page? Did we /really/ need that?

Hm? Can't say I've noticed any change there lately, including here.

If you go to http://www.livejournal.com/update.bml (like you were going to make a post), and click on the text that says "Switch to new version", it should show you the version they're planning on changing it to. (Once they take it out of beta, they're planning to take away the current version completely... You'd think they could leave it as an option, even if it's hidden like the older site schemes such as XColibur/Dystopia/Lynx are. Yes, I switched it back to XColibur manually when they automatically switched everyone to the newer site scheme - you needed to use http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/?cat=display&view=schemes to get it at the time, although they've since put XColibur/Lynx back on http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/?cat=display after enough people ( ... )
