yeah. too crazy for me. it pisses me off that the prison can't legally do anything about it. they have the right to use the pay phones and call collect. i just wish the police would moniter these calls. i mean c'mon! ~alexis

You have call forwarding on your phone. When you hit *72 and then type a phone number, it forwards all calls to that number. Then the scam artist tells his or her friends to call collect on that number and you get stuck with the bill. They can't make outgoing calls. They can just take incoming ones. However, all your personal calls will be answered by the scammer, and that is very unnerving as well.

You don't need to block collect calls, you just need to undo the call forwarding.
