I know, I know... I'm a bassackwards kinda gal. Lots of folks up here in the Pacific Northwest get deeply depressed during our constant rainfall all winter and spring. I LOVE IT! every year i say i'm gonna start buying x-mas stuff in april and i never do!!!

i buy all year, so i can always meet the dec 1 deadline i have for myself. i refuse to buy anything (unless its very special) after the end of november. now, i don't have thanksgiving at the end of nov to worry about like you do, but, i still find picking up things all year releives the stress and spreads out the $$. not only that, if i see something i think someone will like, i will likely have forgotten about it come christmas!

as for the pnw weather.. i hear you. i actually miss it. i love the rain and hate the winter. growing up on the island, i am used to the more seasonal temps and the rain all winter. i miss it. i hate cold, i hate snow (which was a serious concern when i was considering the possibility of living in chicago... its colder there than t.o. is). i get a huge kick out of watching the easterners freak over a bit of rain, they get so queer about it. i could stand in it forever and it wouldn't bother me.
