Here in Esteli I have returned to the homestay life, which is fortunate because I spent the earlier part of this week combating a stomach bug. I took some enormous orange pills that my host mother gave me and they seem to be doing the trick. I know! Thanks for the recommendation! Now that I am out and about I am starting to enjoy it. I am thinking of going to the Miraflor nature reserve nearby on Saturday and Sunday there´s a big Sandinista march with Daniel Ortega, who is currently running for president.

I loved, loved "Hopscotch." I was looking for my copy of it recently, wanting to reread it, and realized that I had lent it to Anita when I still worked at the AHA, and never got it back from her. I think I need to buy another copy, because it's definitely a book I want to come back to more than once in my life.
