Christmas, New Year, Fictitious Boyfriends

So. Christmas was really, really good. I was very lucky in that I got a few days off for it and didn't have to work on Christmas Day. I was working on Christmas Eve until 9:30pm in Livingston and then I jumped in my car, put the old Christmas playlist on the ipod and drove to Sheffield to get there in time for Christmas morning. I only fell asleep ( Read more... )

But you are so awesome, how could the 'man' next door not fall in love with you?
This is like an episode of 'House' but way, way better.
I had a Christmas again this year! I had a tree! You would have loved the Star Wars ornaments. x0

There's potential in this story both for a Half Man Half Biscuit EP and a dodgy ultra-light Hollywood rom-com of the sort that is released to coincide with the holiday season and goes almost straight to video, starring a well-known yet non-credible actress, (e.g. Jennifer Aniston, or if in the UK Martine McCutcheon) and some cheesy bloke...

Rough plot sketch for the latter would read: girl's friends set up mystery boyfriend on Facebook using face of random bloke, girl falls in love with profile, girl (who happens to be a doctor) ends up treating random bloke as a patient, he turns out to be completely different to profile, they hook up anyway, get married and live happily ever after.

It could be called 'Web of Love' or 'Computer Boyfriend'

See - I am Stephen Spielberg (or maybe John Hughes)...

Martine McCutcheon??? I think if anyone's going to play Amy in a film it should be Joanne Frogatt, who played John Simm's Mum in Life on Mars and used to be in Coronation Street, because she really looks like Amy. Well, a scowly version of Amy anyway:

I'm going to have to insist on royalties. Joint story credit for me and Keri.

Don't worry Amy. We can share the kitties and be crazy cat ladies together. They will be brothers and sisters with 2 Mummies. Oh, we're going to have to buy a book explaining that, aren't we?

Heh heh, yes. Am not sure they have written the children's storybook "Owning Too Many Cats; A Poor Simulacrum of Love For The Terminally Loveless" yet though.
