I got your package today. Let me tell you how amazed and touched I am, SERIOUSLY. I burned them like you told me to.

Just kidding, obviously. They're getting strung up tomorrow when I get home from work. I will take pics! They're gorgeous and amazing and probably the best gift we got.

I ♥ you Robin! Kisses to Ray & Rose too!!!!

you could always just try raking the leaves for your mom. it always calmed us down before. ;)

your mommy loves that you're there even if she gets a little flustered with all the commotion on your trips. trust me, your mother adores her time with you and rose!

by the way, what did she get her that you're not liking very much? knowing what NOT to buy in the future always helps. :)

also, i love you. and if i don't get to say it a little closer, merry christmas.

its a retarded "crawl and move" ball by vtech. we used to have one at home and rose hated it, so i returned it to the woman who gave it to us. it's plastic crap that i don't want in my house. i have told her exactly that so she knows i would rather rose not have that kind of stuff. she even said when she was opening it for rose "now your mommy told me not to get you this stuff...." her intentions are all that matters, i know that. it's just annoying. i'm never going to use it for rose. i wish she would spend her money on something rose would USE.

and no, she doesn't always enjoy her time with us. there was a HUGE blow up last time i was in town. she had a major breakdown (dealing with her own mother and family) and drug me in to it even though i had nothing to do with it. she seems better, though i still feel that its a facade. we'll see though.

i love you too. merry christmas. I hope it snows for you :)

hunter got that thing last year from jesse's aunt & uncle. hunter enjoyed chasing it around for a brief period of time, now it just gets thrown out of his toybox on his way to other toys. he'll usually come back around to it every few months just to check out the buttons.

i'm sorry your family time is so stressful. :( you'll be back to your sewing machine soon :D

If you ever have vegetarian/vegan questions, feel free to ask me, of course. :D

The convenience factor really is the biggest hurdle; it kept me from going vegan long after I knew I wanted to. But oddly, like.. even though it's less convenient than going vegetarian, I actually found it a lot easier to stick to being vegan than sticking to being vegetarian... I think it just brings about a different attitude and clearer boundaries.

I also have recipes that I've tested on many meat-eating friends to make sure that it's not just me who likes it, so I can share those if you have any interest.

Also, I'm sad to hear about your mom. Different circumstances, obviously, but I have the same just-waiting-for-them-to-get-annoyed-again sort of thing; it makes it hard to relax when it could get triggered at any moment. Hopefully she'll at least stay happy through this trip.

YES! that's exactly it! like walking on eggshells. ugh.

i love vegan food because i enjoy a lot of vegetables. gennifer had some really awesome recipes in this book i was reading. things ray and i would totally enjoy. i am goign to make a committment to at least go vegetarian first, i am also off dairy (i'm breastfeeding and rose gets sick when i eat dairy) and ray has a dairy sensitivity. so i'm goign to get some vegan cook books anyway just to help me out in that department. thanks for offering your vegan services. i'm sure i will take you up on it eventually :)

Just to let you know. *I* am going to continue to eat meat. In fact if i'm doing the cooking because you refuse, I'll make veal, lamb, and any other meat that you find offensive.

:D

BTW your mom is...just being her mom. I can't wait for your crazy gene to develope more!

I'll be there soon enough.. only..12 more day..wtf.

I'm averaging 4 hrs of sleep while you two are gone. It is just like you're hear, except in the morning I don't have to ninja and just move fast and throw plates, kitties, glasses, etc.

LUFF! less than three

Robin always eats my food! Although she did cook and froze enough food to last a nuclear winter for while she's out of town. yay!

I am actually too lazy/busy to cook any of my own food, so if she won't cook meat, there will be none to eat.

as soon as i read the beginning of his comment, i laughed. because the only thing my husband knows how to cook is EGGS for his own breakfast. and morning star patties or anything else he can microwave. seriously, i have never seen him in the kitchen. he will help me mix dough (man strength) or chop things that need to be precise or are difficult (HARD) for me to chop. but that's it. but omfg he is going to die over these chocolate blobs just like my parents are! again today, my dad "these are so good robin, you have to thank gennifer again." :) :)

not propaghanda i swear! hah! gennifer December 17 2008, 15:37:16 UTC
... i think the best way to start out veg*n is to make your house veg*n. obviously use up whatever you have, but make it a general rule to have a veg*n house. and make as much effort as possible to not eat meat when you go out.
if you cook at home a lot being veg is easy as hell cause you made all the choices to begin with and know there are no hidden ingredients.
at this veg conference i went to once there was this woman who went vegan after having a child and seeing the bond she had with her child couldn't imagine what a mother cow must go through when her child is taken from her after only a few hours. le sigh.
a big thank you ray for not being able to consume dairy ;-)
