Why is it wrong to burn the letter "T". It's not illegal to burn an "O" or a "Z". Hope you can set me "straight" on this.

Not to take the piss out of it, but the burning of the cross was an old Scottish Highlands signal for a meeting of the Clans, usually prior to war. It could be seen from hilltops at night. A small fiery cross would be carried from clan to clan and used to light a large local cross. Once a clan agreed to join in an alliance they would send their relay-runner with the cross to the next clan.

The name Ku Klux Klan, btw, is a perversion of the Greek word Kuklose (circle) and clan. Tribe of Circle.
