Inspired by the tumblr meme that has emerged in femslash fandom.

One character is the feudal lord (stereotyped as butch, dom and top), the other the handmaiden (stereotyped as femme, sub and bottom). Handmaidens are expected to serve their lords... in every way.

Go as tropey or as you want! A BDSM-verse where the handmaiden is a slave to the lord? Fpreg? Vaguely historical-ish AU? Soulmates? Or subvert it! Is Esmeralda campaigning for handmaiden rights? Does Mulan disguise herself as a feudal lord? Does handmaiden female!Aladdin wish that she was a lord so that she could win the hand of handmaiden Jasmine?
