Re: Prompting for Prompts: Fluffy/Angsty Femslash or Friendship!Fic

Okay, gonna ask for a variation on an old prompt of mine... princess is raised as a boy. Snow White, Cinderella, or Rapunzel could be raised that way so they won't outshine their guardians, Aurora to further hide her? Not too bothered who. Kid is raised that way from a young enough age and isolated sufficiently to not know the problem. Eventually a friend comes to the rescue. Shippy or not, go for it.

Ooh! That sounds fascinating and I really want to write it, but first, I'd love to know more specifically what you're hoping for out of the fic. This is both so you'll be happy and so I can deal with the relevant issues in an appropriate manner.
(I'm definitely leaning towards Snow White or Aurora right now; I think those both work so well!)

Okay, will try to explain, um... Okay, I've wanted to see or use this idea forever and I'm not entirely sure of the details myself, which is kinda why I'm asking for other people to play with it rather than writing it :) My fetishes are abnormally specific and unusual and it is a pain. Anyway. Chosen princess is a cis girl, who is raised under the impression that she is a boy and sufficiently isolated that she believes it. No physical dysphoria as such but if the guardian's doing it for malicious reasons they may tell her female characteristics on a boy are a deformity; social dysphoria will be a thing to some degree. I'd prefer friendship over shipping because if she's been that screwed up with sex and gender she'd need time to recover before romance ensued. If the friend (or one of multiple ones) who comes to the rescue is a trans person, all the better - highlights that we know that's not what's happening to the protagonist.

(Clarification; the guardian would have had to start telling her she was a boy from a very early age. Small kids were, for a long time historically speaking, all dressed the same, so not necessarily from birth, though.)

Oh, oh, are ideas ever coming to me now, thank you so much for the clarification. I would love to write this for you! I will be very busy this month, but I definitely want to work on this when I can. Definitely agree that friendship would be best. One question - How would you feel about the inclusion of Marvel characters for some of the friends who rescue the cis girl princess? Because that's under the Disney name, and I have a trans person Marvel thought I've been dying to use, BUT if you'd prefer to keep it all in the (Disney) family, just let me know! This story's for you!

I'm afraid I'm not really familiar with any Marvel characters, sorry. They can show up, but I'd rather they didn't have a major part because I won't know who they are.

That's completely legit! It might be helpful, in that case, if you could tell me what some of your favorite Disney (and Pixar, if that's game!) movies are, so I can make sure the characters I'm writing are ones you'll be familiar with.
Sorry, I'm getting way too excited and full of questions about this, but I can be a bit too much of a people-pleaser when I'm trying to fill a prompt.

Erm, not over-concerned. My absolute favourites are the furry ones, which isn't really relevant here unless you wanna bring in a human Maid Marian. Pixar is absolutely game!

Author's Notes: So, I picked Rapunzel for the princess. I included Robin Hood characters as humans. I worked very fast and loose with the story of Robin Hood, basically replacing Nottingham with an unmentioned location near Corona. Also, we're just going to say Rapunzel's hair can be cut and stay magical for this universe, but Gothel still kidnapped the baby for a constant supply. I hope you enjoy

It was that same morning that Robin Hood and his most trusted of Merry Men - Little John - were after a grand treasure: The crown of the Lost Princess of Corona. As Robin reminded Little John of the plan, his mind was admittedly elsewhere. Things were different with Little John for the past several months. John now preferred to be called Catherine, or at least Joan, and had been dressing with a more feminine touch. Something was certainly going on, but Robin thought it best not to question it until his dear friend brought the subject up himself

“Pardon?”
Rapunzel pushed her breasts upwards and together, causing Robin to blush and look away. Even a fellow who lived outside of the law as he did was embarrassed by such a brazen lack of modesty, even when the girl was fully clothed. “I'm, ah, afraid I don't follow.”
“I'm a boy. I just look like this because I'm...” the phrase 'a freak' dangled on Rapunzel's tongue, but instead, she granted herself, “...sick.”
Catherine suddenly looked quite interested, and even caring. “Like the body you have is all wrong? They tell you a girl, right, but you know you're a boy.” Robin glanced at Catherine curiously, feeling as if he might be starting to understand, but said nothing.
Rapunzel blinked. “No, it's not like that. I've never minded my body, except for how much others would be disturbed by it. And no one's told me I'm a girl before, just a boy. Because I am one
