Cogsworth is deeply humiliated by the fact, not that he is a clock, but that he is a clock who occasionally needs to be wound up. Worse, he can’t reach the second key. It’s hidden in a…very embarrassing place, and his short wooden arms simply can’t reach that far. He’s tried

WHY HAVE I NOT COMMENTED ON THIS YET??!
Utter, utter love for how you've portrayed Lumiere and Cogsworth's relationship in this. I just love the amount of trust here -- Cogsworth's reasoning why Lumiere is the only one he can ask to help him, and Lumiere being respectful enough to not mention anything. I love this pair's friend relationship as much as I love seeing their romantic relationship, so I really enjoyed this fic. :)

Thank you so much!
I always loved how Cogsworth and Lumiere were so very different, and yet worked so well together to run the castle and keep everyone sane. I'm so glad you liked my take on them!

I didn't even think this was doable but you have pulled it off marvellously. Seconding the above commenter; I love your portrayal of them and their relationship here. Great stuff. :D

Boy do I wanna see a second part! Where in the midst of it all Cogsworth accidentaly gasps Lumiere's name and/or mumbles that he loves him, and much waxiness and fonding of cogs and wicks ensues. :P Either that or: they're human again and yet the next month, they still meet up. I'd post it as a prompt but I'd feel weird asking the world at large to add to your fic. :F But if you don't want to do it that's fine.
