Basically, Rapunzel hits puberty, starts wanting to know where babies come from, her body is going through some changes that Mother Gothel is hesitant to want to explain to her. Or WHY exactly Mother Gothel doesn't want her leaving that tower, and it has nothing to do with her hair. (MEN) Make it angsty and dark, if you will.

Here you go! Not exactly angsty, but I tried to portray Gothel accurately. ---
Three months after Rapunzel's thirteenth birthday, Gothel awoke to the sound of terrified screams.
She was awake immediately, her mind already churning as she fumbled blindly for the knife in her drawer. If she's screaming, there might be only a few of them, she thought, not even bothering to light a candle. Not enough to think to gag her, or to hold her down. She stumbled over a discarded dress as she ran to Rapunzel's room. If there are more, they can only come up the stairs a few at a time, and the stairs twist enough that they can't come up quickly. More than enough time to kill their friends and set an ambush-Rapunzel was standing over the chamberpot, her skirts up around her waist. There was blood on her hands

Rapunzel squeaked.
"You see, flower," said Gothel, "Men love the bodies of women. And when they find someone they think is particularly beautiful, they take her away and hide her for themselves. That's called 'marriage.' And all they do is have sex." She noticed Rapunzel's look. "It means that a man will touch you here," her fingers ghosted over Rapunzel to illustrate, "and it will hurt you, but he will like it so much that he'll want to do it all the time."
Rapunzel's eyes widened.
"And then," said Gothel, "you'll start to grow a baby inside you. And for nine long, cruel months, you will get fatter and fatter and uglier and uglier, and at the end of the nine months, you will give birth. So for hours and hours, you will feel the worst pain in the world here," she touched her again, getting a tiny smear of blood on her fingers, "and then the baby will be out of you. But you will have to care for it and feed it, for years and years, until it is old enough to leave you

I've read plenty of fanfiction where a more evil!character has to explain puberty to someone younger, and enjoyed many, but I do believe you've made Gothel one of the best for me. I love the beginning when she freaks and thinks its an attack and someone stealing Rapunzel from her, before she settles down and goes more for the 'use one lie to cover another old lie' trick.
