Belle/Beast

Driven by animal instinct, the Beast marks Belle as his mate but she doesn't mind in the least.

Belle wears high-necked blouses with long sleeves, and skirts that sweep the floor, whenever she leaves her rooms, summer or winter. Occasionally someone wonders why, but a princess is pretty much allowed to set her own fashions, and so it is usually shrugged off as modesty or simple preferences. Belle’s father never mentions the fact that, as a younger woman, she used to revel in short-sleeved tunics. He is buried in his brand-new, explosion-proof workroom, and never notices his daughter’s clothing unless it is on fire ( ... )

This is absolutely gorgeous. Loving the line about her dad not noticing her clothes unless they're on fire (I know I'm supposed to concentrate on the sexy, but that line, I laughed so hard).

You know, I'm really glad someone noticed that line - while the point of the story is the sexy, I always find myself putting in little funny bits, and it's good to know they're appreciated!

Oh, man. This is amazing. I'm constantly on the hunt to find a fic that exemplifies both the Beast AND the Prince. Usually, it's one or the other and I can only really handle reading him as the Beast (I was never crazy about the Prince...). But, you definitely had me convinced the Beast and the Prince are one in the same--one's just hiding a bit more below the surface.

Thanks again and do you write anymore Belle/Beast fics? If so, let me know--I would LOVE to read.

I'm so glad you liked it - I've always liked the Beast better myself, and my favorite interpretations of the story have him not turning back. I do have other fics up at my LJ; feel free to come read. Fair warning, they're usually smutty. I'm always glad to have readers!
