Caravans were invented in 1840.
Ballet wasn't invented until 17th century.
The Commedia dell'arte, their masks and characters, weren't invented until the 16th century.

Clopin, however, has access to all of these things in 1482. He also isn't interested in the only thing worth fucking in Medieval France.
Conclusion: Clopin is a Time Lord.
