Naveen never makes his deal with Facilier (maybe Lawrence stops him, maybe Naveen is distracted by something shiny or big-breasted and wanders away before Facilier can charm him, up to anon).
So Naveen attends the masquerade ball, sweeps Charlotte off her feet and they have themselves a Mardi Gras wedding. All seems to be as it should be - Naveen is rolling in money again and Charlotte is officially a princess.
Except Naveen's famous wandering eye seems to have fixed itself firmly on Charlotte's best friend. She's a mere waitress, takes everything seriously, dislikes dancing and partying, and has been noticeably miserable since she lost her chance to buy some rundown old sugarmill. There are plenty of other women Naveen could be looking to if he were bored, which he isn't, not really, since Charlotte is certainly capable of keeping him entertained. And yet he can't stop thinking about Tiana. It's almost like it's out of his control, as if the very universe itself thinks they were meant to be....
