The Disney character's have a strong belief in destiny, especially when it comes to love. They are very committed to the idea of soul mates, as they believe that they have found theirs. One of them helps an old woman who reveals that she has otherwordly powers. She offers to reveal to the character who their soulmate is. The person accepts, sure that they can then brag that they have definitively found their One True Love. But their soul mate isn't the partner from their movie. It's a character from another movie. Maybe Belle's soul mate is Phoebus, and though they live in the same country, they are separated by time. Maybe Peter Pan's true love is Tiana, and though they could meet in their life spans, they are separated by distance. Or maybe their love isn't of the same gender, like Shang discovering his fated lover is John Smith.
