After her husband left her Sarah Hawkins suddenly has no one to rely on and is struggling to support her son and a restaurant. With money tight she asks for favor from the local single men. They are more then happy to help, for a price. Jim grows up watching his mom sell herself for the sake of the only thing his father left behind, a restaurant and debt.
