The Hunchback of Notre Dame
fem!Quasi/Phoebus. I've been wanting this for, like, ever. So, um, something cute and sweet and fluffy. I won't object to porn, but if so, something loving would be very nice.

If you really want, a retelling of the movie with fem!Quasi and her being all sweet and crushing on Phoebus would be amazing. With Frollo being all nasty about her being a tomboy and all petite but really strong with her red hair marking her as being a devil spawn (if I remember right, people did seriously believe this).

Don't kill me, but I'd rather fem!Quasi not be as deformed as Quasi is, with mostly her red hair and, possibly, freckles and just how she behaves being reasons for her ostracsizing by the people of Paris - with the majority of them thinking that she is actually a he.

Bonus points for Phoebus during the Feast of Fools rescuing her from some guards being all pushy and cruel.

The Festival of Fools was an…interesting first assignment, to be sure. Downright ridiculous, if Phoebus was being frank. But he'd been tasked with carrying out Frollo’s every order, and carry them out he would, even if that meant accompanying a sulking Judge around the silliest festival he’d ever laid eyes on. Jugglers and stilt-walkers and fire-breathers filled the streets, and every vendor’s booth was more garishly colorful than the last, and advertised more outlandish wares. The ale was flowing freely, and it wasn’t even midday but men were already tripping over themselves in a drunken stupor. They didn’t call it the Festival of Fools for nothing ( ... )

While the other guards continued the hunt for the gypsy girl, Phoebus slipped away into the halls of Notre Dame. His intention was to sneak up into the bell tower, and introduce himself to the bell ringer before he could lose his nerve, or, worse, forget her eyes. Or his guilt when he’d failed to intervene as the crowd had turned on her.

Phoebus advanced as quickly and quietly as he could towards the steps that would lead him to the bell tower. Mentally occupied as he was, Phoebus was grossly unprepared for the fugitive gypsy girl to attack him.

“You!” was Phoebus’s only warning before being divested of his sword and shoved to the ground. Harsh green eyes stared him down ( ... )

Phoebus spent every waking moment of the following week under Frollo’s watchful eye. There wasn’t a moment he spent to himself, and no matter how he tried there was no window of opportunity within which he could escape to Notre Dame and finally meet the bell-ringer. Her eyes still haunted him, and the times the memory of them distracted him only made Frollo increase his vigilance of Phoebus’s activities.

At the end of that week, Phoebus was overworked, exhausted, and quite frankly just irritated beyond belief. The order to burn an innocent family alive was the final straw. And when he finally, finally rebelled against Frollo, it didn’t just feel good. It felt great. Of course, then Frollo had set the mill on fire anyway, but Phoebus liked to think his little act of rebellion had counted for something. And if it hadn’t, surely his daring rescue of innocent lives did. Although, he was then nearly killed for his efforts. And then chased. And then nearly-killed again ( ... )

Naturally, Esmeralda misinterpreted his behavior, and Phoebus found himself eye to eye with a very angry gypsy. “Listen here, captain-”

“Ex-captain, actually-”

“I brought you here because I have a very special, very kind friend who has agreed to take care of you as a favor to me.” The gypsy’s eyes were like hot coals, and her red lips were pulled into a snarl. “If I were to, say, revoke that favor, she could easily turn you in. Understood ( ... )

The next time he awoke, he found himself in darkness, but as his vision cleared he could see wood grain above his head. He tried to sit up and get his bearings, but a foot swung forward and kicked him in the head.

There was a coughing sound from the same vicinity as the foot, and as voices began to reach his ears, Phoebus got a grasp of the situation.

“What’s…different in here?”

“Nothing! …Sir.”

“Is this one new? It’s awfully good. Looks very much like the…gypsy girl.” Phoebus bit down an annoyed growl. Even in her absence, Esmeralda managed to cause trouble.

“I know,” Frollo said, and it was suddenly very easy to not breathe. “You helped her escape!”

Phoebus listened with horror to the clattering and smashing sounds above him as Frollo unleashed his rage. Quasimodo fell back off her chair and landed hard on the floor, and Phoebus could only watch from beneath the table.

“And now all of Paris is burning, because of you.” Phoebus clenched his teeth around a fierce snarl. It wasn’t Quasimodo who had set fire to that mill. It ( ... )

Words couldn’t express his relief when she swung down in front of him in the doorway.

“Glad you changed your mind,” he said, and meant every word more than she’d ever know.

“Yeah, well,” was all she said. Although Phoebus was fairly sure he detected a blush on her face, even in the darkness.

Then she held up a woven pendant, and Phoebus had to restrain himself from remarking on its similarity to a certain part of the female anatomy.

Of course it was an ambush. Of course. He’d been so distracted by the red of Quasimodo’s hair bobbing in front of him that he’d forgotten to keep watch. Quasimodo wouldn’t know what to look for, but years of experience had taught Phoebus how to spot spies-when he was paying attention. And now, thanks to his carelessness, they were going to hang.

They even put the hood on him first, and Phoebus resigned himself to an undignified, dishonorable death, without even the chance to see Quasimodo one last time.

Saving the day was all very well in theory, but in reality, Phoebus’s wound and pounding headache were acting as major hindrances. It was good to know the Quasimodo and Esmeralda were safe, but he was having serious concerns about his own health as his bad arm was forced into action. By the time the tides turned and Frollo’s men had been beaten back, Phoebus was about ready to fall over ( ... )

Sorry it wasn't quite what you asked for!

I can't stand it when girl versions of characters are automatically prettified, and I couldn't bring myself to write that. Hope the fill was otherwise enjoyable for you :)

It was! I really enjoyed it even if Quasi wasn't "prettified" (and to be honest, I was leaning towards more of a different disfigurement since the one in the movie I just associate so strongly with, well, a male Quasimodo). It was a really good fill! <3 I would simply love to see more of this couple but this is pretty much all I've got for it. ;-;

I hope that a second fill's okay... I tried to incorporate as much of your prompt as possible, OP, and I hope that my fill lives up to the amazing fill that you've already got. I hope that this is okay... first time writing for this meme and all... *blushes and runs off*Phoebus had, of course, in the past attended several festivals, but the Festival of Fools was something that was just so unexpected and unpredictable that any expectations he might have had were completely turned on their head ( ... )
