I recently started making crochet toys for my little cousins--teddy bears, small dolls, and other softies made out of yarn--which has led me to wonder: When does "life" start for the toys of the Toy Story universe? If I leave a project unfinished, like say all the pieces are made but not sewn together, is the toy "aware" already--does it begin to see as soon as I sew on its eyes, for example, or does it only come to life once the last stitch is sewn?
Alternately, are home made toys different from store bought ones?
Dunno if this will ever get filled, but it's a thought that's been niggling at me, so I thought I'd put it up here.
When the last stitch is set, Teddy wakes up and sees his creator. She is large, compared to him, and her hands are deft as they tie off the thread and set aside the needle.
