One of the Disney Princes is pressed into a political marriage with a more powerful neighboring kingdom before his canon love interest ever shows on the scene He goes to live in his bride's kingdom as part of the arrangement, but his new bride and her parents are more interested in having heirs with claims to both thrones than they are in having this outsider inherit any part of their dynasty. Once the new bride is safely with child, the prince is considered expendable and given over to her Evil Twin (evil mage, black knight, assassin, etc.) for his own pleasure.
