I've been sitting on this story ever since it got posted, and I've been trying to find something coherent to say, so hopefully this is it.

This gets me right where it counts. I'm genderqueer, and it's been an uphill battle most days to get my parents to remember what my name is half the time. Seeing Nani giving Lilo the support she does and being encouraging and all… It touches me in a way I don't know if I'll ever be able to describe. This piece really means something to me, y'know?
