[Well, he's gotta admit, this was definitely the worst timing ever for a triumphant, widely celebrated return to the Academy. At the very least, he was able to spend the time with Mulan. He'd missed her even more than he expected he would, so being back in a room with her was almost like coming home for a second time.

[And there's little sister Jasmine, lounging on the fountain, getting some sun after being cooped up. She's finally in some better spirits, which is pretty obvious since she's daring to venture outside for the first time in who-knows-how-long.

I think you might be taking that western idiom a bit too far, Kuzco; what was it again? "Take a picture, and it will last longer"? [Close enough.]

[Naw, that's just her sibling-ness coming out just a little bit.] Things have been... better... in the past. For the time being, though, I am just grateful the Mist has left. [Being a zombie isn't that much fun.]

*Almost at sunset, if Kuzco was in the quad, he may notice a statue near a tree that... wasn't quite there before. Then again, it is unusual for a statue to be next to a tree like that.*

[Having been making his way back to his dorm, he paused as he saw the statue. No, that was definitely not there before. He was sure he'd recognize a face like that.]

Whoa, looks like someone went waaaay too Gothic on that face. Hold still, beaky.

[He smirked as he moved to take the picture. Oh wait, he better make sure the flash is on since it's getting dark.]

Showtime.

The stone of the gargoyle seems to crackle along that beak and over the entire body of the statute. A bright light emits itself through the cracks and the statue begins to move. Breaking out of the statue was a red creature, with blowing white eyes, letting out a giant yawn, which could be easily mistaken for a roar, stretching his arms and wings high into the air.*

[Mulan had been out and wandering around as well. Taking in as much sun as she could after the horrors of the black mist. Suddenly, she spots Kuzco]
