Stitch had found the perfect place to read, one of the light fixtures in the library was low enough from the ceiling that it was almost like a hammock. Just at that particular moment he was stretched out on his belly, leafing through a book and kicking his feet, looking far more like a child than he should have, given as how he was blue and fuzzy ( Read more... )

Lilo had come to the library to work on her English homework. She curled up in one of the armchairs, knees near her chest, sneaking crackers from a baggie she had in her backpack.

Moments later, a triangle of paper hit her in the head, and she blinked. Unfolding it, she smiled. "No, your head is big, Stitch."

The entirely eloquent reply was a raspberry. One that went on for an inordinately long time. It was amazing ow he could do that, really, inflating himself almost like a frog.

He scrambled down from his perch then, scaling a bookshelf upside-down like a squirrel, taking a flying leap from there to the nearest table, scampering across it and bounding to Lilo's table in turn, holding out the book he'd been reading, or at least leafing through, "Story?"

Because sure, War & Peace was a story.

The raspberry made her giggle, and she made motions for him to come down and join her - grabbyhands followed by patting the chair next to her. She watched him navigate down toward her, blinking when he offered the book. "Yeah, that's about a billion stories in one. But you're a genius, you probably read it already, huh."

He nodded enthusiastically at that statement. Granted, reading it and understanding it weren't necessarily the same thing. He held up a hand in a 'plz hold' gesture scampering off again, the book in tow. He returned not long after with a much smaller tome, "Story!"

Granted, Where The Wild Things Are wasn't necessarily a better option for storytime with Stitch, but at least it was shorter?

Phineas was picking up a couple of supplementary books about arc welding when he got snapped in the back of the head with a paper football. He bent over and picked it up off the floor, before looking around for the origin. He saw another one arcing across the room. He smiled and looked around for a ladder, and when he found one, he made his way up to offer the triangle back.

"Good ninja attack, but you need to work on hiding your trajectories." He teased with a smile.

Stitch was somewhat surprised that someone would come all the way up to where he was, especially to give him back something he'd thrown, this was all new and exciting for him. He twisted himself around to sit up, instead of the leg-dangling sprawl he'd been in, "Hiiiii."

"Hi!" Phineas was a sociable kind of guy, so meeting dangly people - or critters - was sort of second nature to him. "You're pretty high up, how'd you get up here without a ladder?" Curious by nature, he looked around. He supposed that the blue dude could have jumped from one of the book shelves, but that would have been pretty dangerous, since jumping would put more force on the cord that held the lamps, and that could have made the lamp clatter down.

Then he saw the claw marks on the ceiling, and Stitch's claws matched up. "Oh! You climbed up the ceiling. Cool!"

He'd been about to point out his trajectory, which was from one shelf to the next and then along the wall and across the ceiling and down, which was a tricky prospect when carrying a book. Or, it would have been for anyone who wasn't Stitch, but then the guy figured it out himself, or at least the most immediate part, and Stitch applauded, "Stitch climb." He agreed with a nod.
