It was the first official day of school, and the new arrivals had gotten a chance to settle into their dorms. Phineas Flynn was rather happy with his new surroundings - always comfortable everywhere, as he usually was - and he looked at the student map, where he highlighted the quickest routes to every class he had. Vanessa, who was still half asleep as she walked across campus, was on her way to her own morning class. She felt it had been a huge lapse in judgment to put a 9 am class in her schedule, but was grateful it was the only one.

She yawned just before noticing Phineas on the same path as her. She sped up her step and bit until she was next to him. "Hey, Phineas, right?"

He wasn't easily surprised by familiar faces, or really, much of anything for that matter. Phineas tilted his head as he turned to Vanessa, nodding just a little. Well, that was a pleasant surprise.

"Oh, er, Vanessa, right? Good mornin'!" He scratched his mop of red hair with a sheepish smile. "Didn't know you were going to school here. How's it going?"

Vanessa practically winced at the energy Phineas seemed to have that early in the morning, but she managed a smile.

"Yeah," she said with a nod. "Things are going pretty well, aside from having to be awake and functioning at nine in the morning."

He understood that not all people were morning people, and personalities like Vanessa were doubly not morning people, and he properly adjusted his bounciness level to something a little less spastic. Speaking in a more quiet tone, he agreed, "Well, you could always try coffee. I wouldn't, personally, but then again, I'm naturally like this. Breakfast always helps, too, you have to be somewhat awake to manage a task like not poking yourself with utensils."
