Lilo and Shang

Shang had stopped off at home to collect his swimming suit, and now stood on the pool deck, wondering where the girl was. She was interesting, and more than a little bit pretty. The pool itself was nice, too; he'd never been in here before and it looked nice, big and new.

It had been a couple of days since she'd said that she'd go swimming with him. She'd wanted some moping time, but she figured that she should get out of her dorm for something besides food or classes. And swimming always helped her clear her head. If he made her upset, she figured she would just swim laps. It was really easy for her to ignore people when she was doing freestyle.

She was in a red swimsuit designed for diving and swimming, with jeans over it and a pair of red flipflops. Her long brown-black hair was in a braid down her back, and she waved when she saw Shang. "They have a diving end, too, twenty-five feet down. I love it."

Shang nodded a hello, coming over to her. "Oh? I've never been off a diving board." He could swim, of course, and jump into water, but he wasn't a diver. "Is it the same as your free diving?"

"I'm not very good at diving off a board." She smiled and moved over to a bench to take off her flip flops and set down her towel. "Nope, free diving is basically about being in a body of water and just going straight down. Sometimes I weigh my legs down to get myself to go down faster." She wiggled out of her jeans, folding them and bouncing over - not very fast, so she wouldn't slip - toward the diving board.

"Weigh your legs down?" Shang echoed, interested in spite of himself. He had visions of the girl with weights tied to her ankles, which couldn't have been right.
