Phineas & Isabella (Again!)

Phineas wasn't really planning on a date tonight, but with nothing going on in the inventions department that couldn't be put on hold until the weekend, and Ferb practically shoving him out the door to do more with Isabella, he really didn't mind overmuch. "Now that we're not, they have to fill up that time, somehow. And with Candace not around to spaz out at mom, too... I really hope she and dad are taking it okay, y'know? I can't imagine either of them having empty nest syndrome, though. Mom's always doing something interesting, and dad's still giving lectures on antiquities, so..." He shrugged faintly, careful not to dislodge her arm from his.

"Oh, the soda fountain's fine, now. Ferb and I fixed it." He led her through the quad, feeling a little better about walking with her, just because he was close to her, and didn't have to slip away and maintain that friend barrier. He was noticing all the reasons he felt better now that they were dating, and it made him smile sheepishly.

"It's really great to be able to walk with you like this. Just... walking with you is better now than it was before."

"They know how to keep themselves busy... I'm pretty sure they're handling it just fine. And they're probably helping my mom out with it too..." Isabella replied thoughtfully.

"You know... I shouldn't be surprised that you two fixed it... You never let things stay broken..." she giggled, clinging just a little closer to his arm. "You worried before?" Phineas asked, his brow crinkling into a furrow, head tilting just a little as he rubbed his ear with his free hand. "I never would have let anything happen to you, y'know. Still won't, but I just... feel better doing this. More... natural, I guess!" He nudged his way into the door of the pizza place, holding the door for her.

Isabella shook her head. "No, Phineas... I know that. I just worried over silly things. That's all."

She smiled and giggled as he held the door open for her, going inside first, but grabbing his hand as soon as she was out of the doorway. "I like how natural it feels... It's not as awkward as it used to be..."

Phineas mellowed considerably at the fact she told him it wasn't worry over her personal safety. "Yeah, it's a lot easier just to do everything in general. What do you want on your pizza tonight?" If she wanted any meat, Phineas would make sure they put it only on one half of the pie. "The last time, we ordered sun-dried tomatoes and basil, but they've got pretty much everything."
